What is Art Practiced?

An artist-run program offering friendly and affordable studio art classes, online and in-person. New classes are introduced often; each is designed and taught by an artist. They range from traditional technique-based instruction to more experimental, exploratory sessions.

Designed for adults (16 & up), each session provides lessons in specific mediums and techniques, with the understanding that individual pace, approach, and concept are valued. You’ll be working alongside an instructor and peers with whom sharing and friendly constructive critique are encouraged.

In general, inspiration for classes comes from nature and the world around us; often in class we’re simply paying attention to how these things look, feel, and exist outside of us. That said, observation and imagination are not at odds here!

Who is it for?

Truly, it’s great for anyone (16 and up). Particularly perfect for self-motivated individuals who want to experience the rewards and challenges of honing their creativity through in-depth art sessions. Great for new and experienced artists, as well as for people who don’t think of themselves as artists (yet). All skill levels are welcome — projects are infinitely adaptable and success is not contingent on expertise.
